The client wants your anchors but wants them to be hidden!
Sunseeker International approached Bowmaster at the 2012 Monaco Yacht show with the task of installing a completely flush fitting anchoring system on their new flagship model, the 155 Supersport.
The owner wanted a class compliant, clean hull and sleek bow without comprimising on safety and quality.
A semi-custom system, built to a 1mm hull curve tolerance and shipped for quick install.
Once the style of anchor and concept proposed by Bowmaster was agreed, our engineers set about designing the system.
Working in conjunction with Sunseeker, a design was developed focussing on aesthetic form and function of the system.
Sunseeker provided splashes of the hull to Bowmaster for use in construction, ensuring the millimetre accurate flanges matched the manufactured hull perfectly. Spilings were also sent to corroborate the existing splashes while both teams worked together on conformity. Construction jigs were then fabricated and Bowmaster set about making the product.
During fabrication, Bowmaster’s team of fabricators placed huge importance on distortion prevention, ensuring that the final product was fair.
When most of the hot work was complete, Bowmaster’s new 3D scanning technology was used to create an exact “as built” of the pockets and scratch plates. This was then sent back to Sunseeker to present up to the hull for matching. The goods were then shipped to the build site and installed with minimal interruption to build time.
